Israel - Premier Tech Roland has announced that the current Canadian champion, Maggie Coles-Lyster, has joined the team with immediate effect for the remaining part of the season. Coles-Lyster was a member of the Zaaf squad that collapsed over the past few months, with multiple riders leaving among allegations of not being paid. The UCI gave special permission for riders to sign with other teams outside of the usual time window.

"We are very happy to have Maggie joining us. It's an important signing for the team and for our partner Premier Tech, it's also great to have the Canadian champion on board," team owner Ruben Contreras explains. "Maggie already has a lot of experience and she will be able to strengthen our team significantly in the flat and punchy races. I think she will have a great season with us!"

"I'm excited to be stepping up to the WorldTour with IPTR, and thankful to them for giving me this opportunity. It has been a difficult year and signing this contract, especially with the team's Canadian connections, has been a breath of fresh air," Coles-Lyster said in a team release.

"My calendar for the remainder of this season is full of opportunities, and I can't wait to meet the girls and get racing together soon!"

Maggie also told us, from her altitude training camp in Andorra, "I'm really excited to be racing in the colours of Israel Premier Tech Roland for the rest of 2023. The start of this year was pretty rough with the worsening conditions and issues that we were dealing with on Zaaf.

"When I made the decision to leave Zaaf, we started talking to different teams. IPTR offered me my first World Tour contract and it seemed like the perfect pairing, especially because of the strong Canadian connections. This contract has been a breath of fresh air for me and means I can continue to compete in the biggest races on the calendar. My first race with the team will be the RideLondon Classique at the end of the month."
